Nike - Onwards Animation by James Jarvis

This is such a lovely and creative piece of advertisement, which the music suits beautifully. I can remember watching this 2 years ago whilst at university and just feeling happy with life.

Haagen-dazs 'Help the Honey Bees Campaign'

Goodby Silverstein and Partners are an award winning advertisement agency, one of my favourite campaigns on the website is Haargen-dazs 'Help the Honey Bees'. This campaign was very successful, raising issues regarding the decrease in the numbers of honey bees, their importance and how they are responsible for the pollination of close to 1/3 of all natural foods.
The extensive marketing campaign included 'hd loves hb programme, an array of viral adds (also recreated by members of the public who felt strongly towards the campaign), epic TV advertisements, funding of honey bee research, public involvement throughout the USA and extensive media coverage across many distribution channels.

The website is great, however please be patient as the site can take a couple of minutes to load but its definitely worth it.

Bon Iver - Calgary Music Video

Bon Iver's self-titled new album is just as outstanding as his previous 2008 album 'For Emma Forever Ago'.
Not only are the lyrics and sound of the single 'Calgary' beautiful but I quite like the artistic edge of the video.
Bon Iver is performing in and around the UK later this year, including close to me at Colston Hall, Bristol!
Check out the link to the Colston Hall website;

Bestival 2011

Just when I think that I could not get anymore excited about Bestival....More amazing acts are added to the line up!!!

Santigold (formerly known as Santogold) have been added to the Bestival line up

Short Documentary regarding Shark finning

This video contains graphic images,  please be aware you may find parts upsetting

This short documentary shows the shark finning industry up close and the detrimental effect it is having on around a 100 species of shark and the brutal way in which the fishing takes place. Although the industry is extremely lucrative having positive economic impacts in many of the countries where it takes place, the long term effects on Eco-systems are disastrous. WildAid realise this will be close to impossible to stop altogether but they are campaigning for more sustainable methods. In my opinion it is hard to see any positives to shark finning, a large majority die before the fishermen even get to them and when they are caught the body of the shark is wasted, thrown back into the water still alive and suffering before finally dieing.....all that for soup. This dish has been around for many years and was originally associated with prestige but now its available to everybody, including All-You-Can-Eat-Buffets in China! This is just one conservation battle, the more people aware the more of a difference we can make.

The Colour Wheel

Short video on understanding the colour wheel and how colour can work in harmony

I find this video about colour and using it effectively very useful especially in relation to Branding and advertising. Colours can stimulate a variety of feelings and meanings within us, therefore it is important to use the appropriate colours regarding how you would like to portray your brand.
