Short Documentary regarding Shark finning

This video contains graphic images,  please be aware you may find parts upsetting

This short documentary shows the shark finning industry up close and the detrimental effect it is having on around a 100 species of shark and the brutal way in which the fishing takes place. Although the industry is extremely lucrative having positive economic impacts in many of the countries where it takes place, the long term effects on Eco-systems are disastrous. WildAid realise this will be close to impossible to stop altogether but they are campaigning for more sustainable methods. In my opinion it is hard to see any positives to shark finning, a large majority die before the fishermen even get to them and when they are caught the body of the shark is wasted, thrown back into the water still alive and suffering before finally dieing.....all that for soup. This dish has been around for many years and was originally associated with prestige but now its available to everybody, including All-You-Can-Eat-Buffets in China! This is just one conservation battle, the more people aware the more of a difference we can make.
